Brief introduction:

Air brake system is the general braking mode of railway freight cars and the braking force is mainly produced by compressed air from compressor. Air reservoir is a high pressure tank for storing the compressed air generated by the air compressor. Where requires compressed air, there needs air reservoir. According to the different functions in the air brake systems, there are main air reservoir, auxiliary air reservoir, release air reservoir, working air reservoir, etc. Air reservoir is a necessary key component for railway locomotive, freight wagons, metro vehicles, urban rail vehicles. Normally, each vehicle needs 2 to 3 air reservoirs.

Air reservoir is hung below railway vehicle’s under frame by its lifting lug, and fastened with bolts. Air reservoir is mainly composed of tank body, end cover, flange, lifting lug, pipe joint, ad assembled and welded by stainless steel or aluminum alloy. The manufacturing process of air reservoir is as follows:

Tank body rounding - oil painting, cylinder alignment - longitudinal seam welding of tank body - assembly of tank head - circumferential seam welding - weld grinding - welding accessories - assembly lifting lugs - welding lifting lugs - air and water pressure test
