GK type three-way air control valve is the main valve for GK type air brake system, which was generally applied in China in 1960s. It is applicable for 50 tons and 60 tons load freight cars and could adapt to long marshal.
GK type three-way air control valve is connected with train brake pipe, auxiliary air tank and brake cylinder. It could distribute and control the air flow and realize train’s brake or release functions. Its main piston has six working positions: slow down inflation release position, full inflation release position, common full braking position, common emergency braking position, common braking neutral position and emergency braking position.

Structure features of GK air control valve:
GK type air control valve is a kind of slide valve with metal piston ring. It is mainly composed of transmission part, action part, slow down part and emergency part. In the transfer part, transfer rod, transfer spring and other parts are set. The action part is internally provided with main piston, control valve, slide valve and other parts; A slow down spring sleeve is arranged inside the deceleration part; The emergency part is equipped with emergency piston, emergency piston seat, emergency valve, emergency valve outer spring, check valve spring and check valve, etc. Holes, grooves and channels are set in the slide valve, slide valve seat, control valve and corresponding parts in the valve body, so that when the main piston drives the slide valve and control valve to move on the slide valve seat, an air passage is formed to realize brake or release.
