Empty car safety valve is used in GK brake system to regulate the pressure of brake cylinder of braking system when railway freight car is empty.
When the railway freight car is loaded, the self-weight coefficient is big; when the car is empty, the self-weight coefficient is small. The braking system shall not only ensure the braking distance of the vehicle under full load, but also ensure that when the vehicle is empty, the braking force will not be too big to cause sliding, running failure or longer braking distance, which is endanger the safety of the train. By adopting the empty vehicle safety valve, the change of braking rate under load condition to empty parking condition can be significantly reduced, so as to effectively change the braking performance of the vehicle, prolong the service life of the vehicle and ensure driving safety.
The train operator activates the empty car safety valve by adjusting the empty and load transfer cock. When the pressure of brake air cylinder is 190kpa, the safety valve start to exhaust the air and assist to reduce the pressure; when the pressure of the brake air cylinder drops to 170kpa, the safety valve is closed to stop exhaust.
The safety valve is mainly composed of valve body, valve, valve stem, adjusting screw sleeve, spring, nut, lead sealing, lead sealing wire, etc. The safety valves produced by Tieke comply with the standard TB / T2641-1995.
