1000mm meter gauge railway ballast hopper wagon is designed for customers in Southeast Asia and African countries, whoes railway line is 1000mm gauge. It is mainly used for transporting ballast for railway construction or maintenance.
The ballast is loaded from top and unloaded from bottom, utilizing its gravity for unloading. It adopt a manual unloading mechanism and the opening and closing of the bottom doors is operated by turning the handwheel of the gearbox. The entire ballast wagon is equipped with four bottom doors to unload towards the outside of the rail track.
The meter gauge ballast hopper wagon mainly consists of the vehicle chassis, ballast discharge device, braking system, coupler and buffer system, and bogie.
The vehicle body is a welded steel structure without a center beam, consisting of a chassis, side walls, end walls, funnels,, etc.
The vehicle body is made by Chinese Q345B low alloy high-strength profile steel plate, which is currently commonly used by China Railway, with superior performance and meets the loading function of the vehicle.
The wagon's ballast discharging system consists of hand control device and transmission device. There are four (4) bottom doors for wagon. The bottom doors are controlled separately by two reducers.
The braking system complies with Chinese railway standards, mainly composed of 120 control valve, auxiliary air cylinder, brake cylinder, brake regulator, angle cock, etc. The hand brake device adopts a chain hand wheel operated hand brake.
The coupler buffer device adopts a C-grade steel No. 13 bottom acting coupler with AAR-10A contour and a right side opening hook, ST buffer or MT-3 buffer, as well as a matching coupler yoke and alloy steel coupler yoke pin.
The bogie is a three piece cast steel ride control type bogie, which adopts a control type inclined wedge damping device. The main components include wheelset assembly, bolster assembly, side frame assembly, bearing assembly, bearing adapter, foundation braking device, bearing spring, wedge vibration reduction, lower side bearing, and other components. The performance of the bogie meets the evaluation requirements of GB/T5599, and the strength design meets the requirements of TB/T1335.
