TK90 Series railway hopper wagons are designed to transport mineral ores for standard gauge railway in South American or African countries. The nominal capacity is up to 90 tons and the volume is about 40 m³.
The auto quick discharge device is fitted on the bottom of the wagon. And the hopper wagons could be grouped in trains of 150 sets pulled by locomotives total horse power over 6000HP.
This hopper wagon is open type and composed of wagon body, bottom doors opening closing mechanism, brake device, coupler and draft gear and bogies.
There are four funnels, two at each side. Between the funnels and the side wall, there are funnel connecting plates and between the funnels, there are connecting back plates. The funnel plate is 10mm thickness.
The wagon is fitted with AUTOMEC full set bottom doors opening and closing device. This opening and closing device is composed of mechanical transmission components, air control device, electric control device. The mechanical transmission components are air cylinder, transmission levels, lever supports, etc. Air control device contain with air reservoir, air filter, one-way valve, air connecting duct. Electric control device is composed of solenoid valve, pickup shoes, and electric wires.
When the pickup shoes, fitted on the position 1 and position 4, touched the third rail on the ground, the solenoid valve works, and the action transmitted by air pipes to the air cylinder and cause the piston move, thus cause the bottoms doors open or close.
When there’s no air source, while there’s air in the reservoir, the bottom doors still can be opened and closed by manual. The bottom doors could also be operated by press the solenoid valve’s button.
