Breif introduction:

This 1067mm cape gauge bogie is designed for mountain area with small radus railway line. It has satisfactory application in Taiwan.

This bogie can reduce wheel flange wear and lateral force, reduce fuel consumption of locomotives, reduce running noise and environmental pollution while ensuring sufficient linear stability. They are especially suitable for the operation requirements of high-speed and heavy-duty vehicles on small radius curve lines, and have great technical and economic significance.

This small radius bogie is guided by creep force between wheel and rail. When the bogie enters the curve, the creep force generated between the wheel and rail makes the wheel set "automatically" enter the radial position of the curve. The self guiding mechanism allows radial or octagonal displacement of the wheel set, but limits rhombic displacement, thus ensuring sufficient linear motion stability of the bogie, obtaining excellent curve passing performance, reducing flange wear and lateral force, and minimizing the maintenance cost of the wheel and the specification.

The self guiding bogie is a cast steel three piece freight car bogie. The side frame is located on the sub frame through the rubber spring, and the sub frame is connected with the diagonal tie rod to form the self guiding mechanism of the bogie. The bogie is mainly composed of wheel sets, rolling bearing devices, side frames, bolsters, central suspension devices, foundation braking devices, constant base contact elastic side bearings and self guiding devices.
