Brief introduction:
MX72 Auto unloading coal hopper car is upgraded on the basis of KM70 coal hopper car by adding one set air control system, realizing multiple cars discharging the coals at the same time, which greatly improves the coal unloading efficiency.
The added air control device is arranged on the upper part of the traction beam at the position two end of the hopper car. In order to ensure driving safety and not affecting original air brake system, an independent train pipe is installed to supply air to the air control device. The door opening mechanism at the bottom of the hopper is controlled by the air control device to complete the opening and closing of the bottom door, so that the loaded coals of hopper wagons in one train could be unloaded automatically at the same time. According to the air supply from the locomotive or from the ground equipment at customer’s site, we will arrange an appropriate length of braided brake hose assembly installed at the end or tail of the train to realize the connection with the air supply device.

Main structures:
MX72 self-discharging coal hopper car is mainly composed of car body, bottom doors opening and closing mechanism, air automatic coal unloading pipeline device, coupler buffer device, braking device and bogie. The car body is an all steel welded structure, which is composed of under frame, side wall, end wall, funnel, cornice board, escalator, bottom door and pull rod. The main profile and the plates all adopt Q450NQR1 high strength weathering resisting steel.
Hopper assembly: A transverse central hopper ridge is set in the center of the vehicle body, cooperated with the longitudinal hopper ridge set on the center beam, dividing the whole vehicle into four hopper areas. Each hopper ridge is assembled and welded by V-shaped steel plate and rib plate. The inclined angle between the hopper plate and the horizontal plane is 50 °.
Unloading bottom doors opening and closing mechanism: It adopts a two-stage transmission top lock opening and closing device, which is controlled by air or by manual. It is composed of upper transmission device, connecting rod, lower crank, lower transmission shaft, double lever, long and short ejector rods and left and right lock bodies. The manual transmission mechanism and air control pipeline system are set on the under frame at the position one end of the vehicle body. The pneumatic and manual control mechanisms are independent of each other, and their conversion is controlled by the shift fork and the jaw clutch.
