NSW type hand brake machine installation
NSW type hand brake machine is partially improved on the basis of FSW type hand brake. It retains the advantages of FSW type hand brake, simplifies the structure, and has good anti-slip function. NSW type hand brake has become the main type of hand brake for railway freight cars in China.
There are four mounting holes with diameter of 18 mm on the base of NSW hand brake, which are arranged in a rectangular shape. The vertical distance of the hole centerline is 305 mm, and the horizontal distance is 286 mm. Considering that the chain is wound on the winding shaft during braking, the vertical centerline of the crank or pulley corresponding to the chain of the hand brake should be staggered by 40mm from the centerline of the winding shaft, and the pulley centerline should be 10mm in front of the installation of the hand brake.
It is recommended that the vertical distance between the center of the hand wheel and the brake pedal or the platform surface of the vehicle end should be 762mm, 635mm at least, and 1016mm at most. For flat cars, the size shall be determined according to the convenience of use.
When the hand brake is installed on the flat car, the top surface of the hand brake shall not interfere with the flat position of the end plate. In order to facilitate installation on the end beam of the flat car, the diameter of the hand wheel is reduced from 560mm to 400mm. Even so, it can fully meet the requirements of the manual brake in the ‘Railway Technical Management Regulations’ for the conversion of 40kN brake shoe pressure of each vehicle (according to the user's requirements, a hand wheel with a diameter of 560mm can also be assembled). In addition, in order to be interchangeable with FSW hand brake, the spacing of its mounting holes should be consistent with that of FSW hand brake.
